MADISON, WI, NOVEMBER 10, 2009 -- Galaxy Technologies, Inc. (www.galaxy-inc.com) a leader in web-based workforce management systems, is extending a special software migration program to thousands of Stromberg time & attendance clients left uncertain about the future of their mission-critical systems following the Kronos, Inc. acquisition of Stromberg from PayChex on October 14, 2009. Of special concern to many Stromberg clients was the immediate termination of 50% of the Stromberg labor force, clearly indicating Kronos’ strategic planned obsolescence of the Stromberg Enterprise product line.
Like Stromberg, Galaxy has offered buyers an alternative to Kronos’s time and attendance with the value proposition of low total cost-of-ownership, free version upgrades, personal service and high-quality technical support.

Purchasing a new Kronos solution and replacing perfectly good Stromberg timeclocks with new Kronos proprietary timeclocks is the type of expenditure these clients have not planned on having."
For Stromberg clients seeking an alternative to a potentially high-cost Kronos conversion, Galaxy has announced a specially-priced, headache-free upgrade plan to its enterprise-class TimeStar™ workforce management solution.
"Hardware replacement is a huge concern during any migration, regardless of the number of timeclocks involved. Galaxy’s flagship timeclock is the same formerly used by Stromberg, which may help clients save thousands of dollars and keep the employee experience consistent by continuing to use existing hardware," stated Gonzalez. "Galaxy’s hardware support program can immediately provide support for Stromberg Enterprise users’ Cyber-Series timeclock terminals. Galaxy can provide the ongoing hardware support program while the user determines the best avenue for their solution direction."
Beyond the cost savings of maintaining existing timeclock hardware, migrating to Galaxy’s TimeStar™ solution offers significant new capabilities and benefits to Stromberg users, including:
Unlike Stromberg Enterprise, TimeStar™ is entirely web-based and available as both a traditionally licensed, on-premise solution as well as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) subscription.
As part of the Galaxy "stress-free" experience, Stromberg clients may take advantage of a phased approach to their TimeStar™ migration, beginning with a 90-day SaaS subscription at a low up front cost and no contractual obligation. Once users have gained familiarity and confidence with TimeStar™, they may elect to remain on Software-as-a-Service or convert to an in-house license and receive up to three months credit of their SaaS fees towards the TimeStar™ license.
