Management Team

James Wacek – President and Founder

In 1986, the seeds of Galaxy Technologies were sewn as Jim engineered an innovative DOS-Clipper timekeeping application, which was then marketed to grocery stores. Inspired by his early success and experience in the grocery vertical market, Jim officially founded Galaxy Technologies, Inc. in 1988. Recognizing a universal need for comprehensive "punch-to-paycheck" solutions in Galaxy’s target market, Jim sought out an HR/Payroll technology partner forming a reseller relationship with Sage in 1990, which remains strong to this day. Sage Abra HRMS is a unit of UK-based, global software giant Sage Software, Inc.

Jim chooses to remain personally involved with Galaxy’s clients. After two decades of exceptional growth and the evolution of his company, he continues to spend much of his day-to-day consulting clients on achieving their HRMS technology goals, especially in the payroll arena. An engineer at heart, Jim occasionally still "rolls up his sleeves" to help clients perform complex data conversions; recover from payroll process mistakes; and serves as a trusted advisor to the HR and payroll professionals using Galaxy’s software solutions. This everyday touch with real-world end-users provides the basis for Jim’s market research from which Galaxy derives its strategic business vision and product direction.
